This is really well done! Love the lower strings, and those trilly flutes! Nice work! Five stars for sure! Doesn't show that you're out of your comfort zone at all!

ADR3-N responds:

Aww, thanks! I was actually a little nervous to post this one since I've never done anything like it. Glad you liked!

This is extremely extremely well done. That passion and emotion really comes through in this. I'm honestly blown away! That said, I'm very sorry for your loss. I know how hard it can be. I just went through pretty much the exact same thing here very recently, and I know I'm a complete stranger, but if you want someone to talk to feel free to shoot me a PM. But hey, and I'm gauging this from your description, you seem a bit self critical, but you REALLY do do this song justice. Incredible work. I mean it. Five stars, a favorite, and a follow!

Ceevro responds:

WOW! Thank you so much for the kindness. My lady is telling me she loves this version as well...but I'm allowed to think she is a little biased, and obviously I'm not primarily a singer...but I did find myself kinda liking the punk vibes of my vocals here...I'm also very pleasantly surprised by how accurate my electric solo sounds...as I tried to play it by ear on an acoustic guitar, then add distortion in post...and it sounds like I nailed it.

And I'm also very sorry to hear about your friend. Same offer goes to you. You need an ear, you got one.

I actually really dig this! Quite great for an iphone recording! Would LOVE to hear a lightly produced version of this. REALLY great stuff! Five stars, a favorite, and a follow!

pitbulljones responds:

You are very kind.

I ran some mastering but you can't polish a turd lol. The singer and I are working on a 'proper' version so keep your ears peeled.

I adore this piece. I've listened to countless interpretations, and can say that you do a great job! There are a couple areas where you can hear that the piano tuning isn't perfect, but that just created it's own unique flavor, and points to that which the music of Philip Glass elucidates: one river, never the same.

Phonometrologist responds:

I appreciate the time you allowed in letting me know your thoughts on it. Your understanding on how Philip Glass would explain music shows that you're acquainted with his approach; that gives weight to your sentiments. Thank you

I like this! A bit spastic, but not without losing its momentum. Some nice melodies in there! Good stuff! Five stars!

trevor8 responds:

haha, thank you!

I think I had been avoiding checking out this track simply because it was labeled ambient. Not that I don't like ambient music, because I do, but rather I like you indie/new-wave material so much that that stuff kind of had priority in my mind. But this is well beyond a pleasent surprise. This is really fantastic! It vaguely reminded me of the flute-driven section in MGMT's Siberian Breaks. Overall, lovely tones, wonderful mix, and an all around gorgeous compositions. As per usual with your stuff, an easy five stars and a favorite.

Bitbeak responds:

Thanks so much! I use ambient for most of my instrumental tracks because there's not really a great other genre to classify it as.

Wouldn't have thought to compare to Siberian Breaks but I can kinda hear it listening back. Really appreciate the review ^.^

This flows very smoothly, blending between all kind of pleasant sonic textures. And what vinyl crackle are you using? It’s especially nice as far as crackles go. Very soothing and nicely layered production here! Five stars for sure!

EppuJoloZ responds:

Thanks for the feedback! The vinyl crackle was produced by Reason's Audiomatic plugin, it is a very useful lo-fi tool!

The production on this is REALLY cool! Very neat style, definitely a bit emo-hiphop sounding as far as the vocals go (and I hope you don’t take that as an insult). That works very well with the skippy high-energy rhythmic instrumentals. Your distortion tones are very pleasing as well. I’d definitely love to see a breakdown of you vocal processing techniques on this though, as they really are nice flavorful. Five stars, a favorite, and a follow!

SynchroSpectre responds:

Thanks I appreciate the kind words; that's actually an accurate way of putting the vocals lol. I'd love to do track breakdowns one day; idk if on twitch or youtube. Really I just tried to keep the vocals 'dry' sounding with a pretty strong double with emphasis on the highs on the sides (some mid/side stereo thing). Sausage fattener, Microshift (also little Microshift), and OTT was definitely a tool used, even though I don't think that's really a conventional way of shaping the vocals ha 😵.

Not too familiar with the genre, but this is a really cool, subtle, feel. Love that kick especially. Snare has a nice snap too it as well. Everything blends quite nicely though, and the tune just gently carries you through it, with a number exciting moments along the way. Good stuff! Five stars!

Dylbsure responds:

thanks man, i really appreciate it

Definitely some cool elements in this! Love that snare and the bass. I feel like it wants a strong melody, and the mix could blend a bit better, but regardless, you create a pretty cool feel here! Five stars my man.

Meiner responds:

Thanks dude
